Mazatlan Visits Western Canada
Vancouver, September 2008
Members of the Mazatlan Real Estate Developers Association, along with the State of Sinaloa and the Mexico Tourism Board, hosted information seminars in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary on September 3, 4 and 8th respectively. The events were very successful, drawing a flattering response in all three cities.
The hosts delivered an informative and social evening to Canadians who are new to Mazatlan and seasoned visitors alike. Important guests such as Mr. Antonio Ibarra Salgado, Secretary of Tourism of the state of Sinaloa; Angel Villalobos, Mexican Consulate in Vancouver; Daniel Gutierrez and Alejandro Grageda from the Mexico Tourism Board ; and Carlos Cacho of PROMEXICO were present to lend their support during the seminars.
The events took place in preparation for the fall season, which will feature additional direct flights from Western Canada to Mazatlan, making it easier than ever for Canadians to travel to the remarkable city.
The Presentations
Wendy Hardouin, honorary Canadian Consulate of Mazatlan, welcomed guests and spoke about her own experience as a resident of Mazatlan before introducing the evening's hosts . In Edmonton, Mr. Daniel Gutierrez, Director of the Mexico Tourism Board in Western Canada and Washington spoke about the rising importance of Mazatlan as a real estate investment destination. During the presentations, guests listened intently as members of the developers' association spoke about Mazatlan's:
- Real Estate outlook and potential
- Lifestyle and cost of living
- As well as how Canadians are able to acquire property in Mexico

Nancy Dietrich, Bruce Brand and Mr. Nilsson graciously shared their personal experiences as homeowners and part time residents of Mazatlan.
Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to meet the members of the association, ask them questions and learn about the distinct projects that each has to offer.
